Statement

Lesbians from two different generations in Hong Kong talk about desire, growing up and family issues in this short documentary. Both discuss in front of the camera issues of sex, coming out, sexual identification, etc. Through borrowing examples from lesbian icons from pop culture, including film excerpts of the famous female Cantonese opera star, Pak Suet-sin ––widely known to have shared a life-long partnership with another female Opera star Yam Kim-fai, the piece points to a rich and long tradition of lesbian culture in this society.
